Fernando Barbosa Teixeira Fernando Barbosa Teixeira has a major bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and Management Engineering. He is currently Manager of Civil Engineering Department in the Project and Investment Division of EDP Produção, an EDP Group company, responsible for the civil engineering design of the hydroelectric developments and thermal power plants built in Portugal. At present he is responsible for the design of the new hydroelectric projects of Baixo Sabor, Ribeiradio‐Ermida, Foz Tua and Fridão and the repowering projects of Alqueva II, Venda Nova III and Salamonde II, all located in Portugal. As former manager of Construction Management Department, Fernando Barbosa Teixeira was previously responsible for the construction supervision, risk management and safety coordination areas of the Project and Investment Division of EDP Produção, having participated in the management and site supervision of several construction projects in Portugal and Spain, including the hydroelectric projects of Alqueva, Pedrógão, Venda Nova II, Picote II, Bemposta II and Alto Ceira, the desulfurization works in the thermal power plants of Sines, Soto Ribera and Aboño, the construction works of the combined‐cycle plants of Castejón 2, Lares, Soto 4 and Soto 5, as well as the co‐generation project of Barreiro. Since 2007, Fernando Barbosa Teixeira is a member of the Coordinating Committee of Collaboration of EDP Produção with EDP Brasil in the generation area. He regularly participates in the technical‐ economic assessment of new hydroelectric projects in Brazil, in support of proposed acquisitions by EDP Brazil, which included in the recent past Santo Antonio do Jari, which is now under construction. He has also been involved in EDP Brazil participation in energy auctions for the concession of hydroelectric projects. In the Generation School of the EDP University, he coordinates the course ”Contracting and Contract Management”.
