Workshop – “Green Opportunities”
This session will aim to present existing opportunities existing in the sustainable
construction sector in the Euro-Mediterranean, with special focus on Morocco, Algeria and
Egypt. Opportunities in the region, such as the need for new infrastructure, renovation of
buildings, waste management, planning of new towns or the growth in demand for
environmental studies, will also be presented.

Workshop – “Creating the Green Market”
This workshop will address the existing legislation and policies on sustainable construction
across the Mediterranean Region, presenting the situation of this sector to all potential
players who would like to enter this ever-growing market. This workshop will also approach
matters such as subsidies, preferential financing and other incentives for “Green Building”.

Workshop – “Energy Efficiency, case studies”
The best practices achieved in the field of technology transfer and innovations in terms of
sustainable construction will be presented here. Success stories, best practices and
sharing of experiences in the cooperation projects funded by the Invest in Med, among
others, will also be presented.

The Invest in Med programme aims at developing sustainable trade relationships, investments and enterprise partnerships between
the two rims of the Mediterranean. Funded at 75% by the European Union over the 2008-2011 period, it is implemented by the
MedAlliance consortium, which associates economic development organizations (ANIMA, leader of the programme), CCIs (ASCAME,
EUROCHAMBRES), and business federations (BUSINESSMED). The members of these networks, as well as their special partners
(UNIDO, GTZ, EPA Euroméditerranée, World Bank, etc.), gather a thousand of economic actors - mobilized through pilot initiatives
centered on key Mediterranean promising niches. Each year, a hundred operations associate the 27 countries of the European Union
and 9 Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia.
