Personal Interests
Research
interests
The research on the "in-between uses," investigating: the possibility of them respond
to the new features defended for the urban planning of the XXI century, their potential
and limitations and the feasibility of implementing them as an urban planning tool. It is
also of my interest to study other dynamic that appropriate or assign new uses for
expectant urban spaces (obsolete structures, urban voids and empty buildings), but
permanently, such as forms of housing.
Other interests
Project "The City Inside Out". Observation of the urban morphology of Lisbon, in
special watching the spaces between buildings, such as courtyards and backyards,
which are not seen from the streets. The aim is to investigate sociocultural
characteristics revealed in these spaces. One result of this project was shown in the
photo exhibition "The City Inside Out – A Cidade do Avesso”, as an associated project
of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2013.
