FOREWORD The translation of the ' Primary Ear and Hearing Care Training Resource ' has been completed by a group of Brazilian researchers and collaborators from the Center of Audiological Research at The University of Sao Paulo, in Bauru, Sao Paulo and from APADAS, a non­profit and non­governmental organization for deaf children in Sorocaba, Sao Paulo. This group is now asking that this translation be used as the official and authorized publication from WHO, because they believe in it's important role for ear and hearing health care programs in Portuguese language developing countries. To date, an adapted version of the intermediary and advanced level resources has been available for the health agents of The Brazilian Family Medical Programs who this group works with, but the aim is that the Health Ministry adopt the new translation as the official publication for the training of all health agents.
