Aero-thermodynamics Engineer in the Department of Space Propulsion. Main responsibilities included the
aerodynamic design of blades and vanes for the LH2 turbines for the European Space Launcher (Ariane 5 and
the New Generation Launcher); CFD analyses for performance evaluation and aeromechanical behaviour;
development of in-house codes for blade design and turbine characterisation (in Fortran 90/95 and C).

• Design and refurbishment of the undergraduate fluid mechanics laboratories at Instituto Superior
Técnico (ongoing). In total 14 fully automated measurement apparatuses are being installed, including a measurement station with a hot-film anemometer. In addition, two flow visualisation apparatuses
with hydrogen bubbles and smoke are being designed and installed.
