Minister of Tourism Luiz Eduardo Pereira Barretto Filho Since June 5th 2008, the sociologist Luiz Eduardo Pereira Barretto Filho is the Minister of Tourism. The minister began his career on the public administration on 1984, as a Seade Foundation’s researcher (Data Analysis State System, Seade in portuguese). After that, he became as a researcher of the Study Center of Contemporaneous Culture (Cedec Sao Paulo). On 1989, Luiz Barretto enrolled the Sé’s Regional Administration Cabinet command – Sao Paulo’s Town Hall. Between 1993 and 1995, Luiz Barretto was the director of the Sao Vicente’s Town Hall’s Urban Service’s administration. From 1996 on, he exerted the Workers Party’s National Directory National Secretariat of Institutional Affairs secretary auxiliary. On 2001, he exerted the Sao Paulo Town Hall’s Secretariat of Industry, Commerce and Provision’s Cabinet command. On 2005, he commanded the Osasco Town Hall’s Secretariat of Industry, Commerce and Provision’s Cabinet (SP). Before coming to the Ministry of Tourism, Luiz Barretto had the Sebrae’s National Marketing and Communication Manager position. Born in São Paulo, Luiz Barretto, 46 years old, is married and has two children. He graduated in the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo in Sociology.
