Summary
Principal Investigator, holds a Degree in Physics Engineering and a PHD in Physics
(University of Aveiro). JPR is the Coordinator of UATEC, and Professor at the Department of
Economics, Management and Industrial Engineering of the University of Aveiro, where he
teaches Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship. JPR has a broad experience in
Intellectual Property Rights registration, management and prosecution, and valorization of
R&D results, aiming at disseminating the importance and role of IP protection, analyzing the
IP and commercial potential of R&D results, performing market studies and negotiating with
potential licensees at national and international levels. JPR is responsible for the
coordination of TT management, licensing, university-industry liaison and entrepreneurship
at the University of Aveiro, where he currently supervises the participation of UATEC in 6
national, Iberian, and European projects. JPR has over 50 national and international
presentations in Technology Transfer.

Industrial Engineering of the University of Aveiro; UTEN Executive Committee Member;
Coordinator of UATEC; Coordinator of CEBT and LABE courses; Coordinator of several
national and international projects.
Education
Degree in Physics, PhD in Physics and Post Doc in Science Materials by the University of
Aveiro; Post Graduation in Industrial Property at University of Lisbon.
