Nematologia-Fitonematologia: biologia, ecologia, e interações nemátode-planta; Morfologia,
bioquímica, biologia molecular, imunologia de nemátodes fitoparasitas.
Projetos de Investigação
Participa/participou em 10 projetos internacionais financiados pela “The United States Agency
for International Development”, “NATO”, “Institut voor Rationele Suikerproductive, The
Netherlands”, “Euphresco Phytosanitary ERA-NET” e Comissão Europeia, 15 nacionais
financiados pela INIC/JNICT/FCT (6 como coordenadora científica/investigadora
responsável), 6 internacionais de cooperação bilateral (como responsável pela parte
portuguesa), em projetos no âmbito de cooperações internacionais com diversas instituições
estrangeiras e em projetos nacionais financiados pelo Instituto Nacional de Investigação
Agrária e das Pescas, Fundo Florestal Permanente e PRODER.
Orientação/Supervisão
Foi responsável/co-responsável científica por mais de 20 estágios de curta duração de
doutoramento e pós-doutoramento de investigadores de diversas Instituições de vários países,
orientou 10 doutoramentos e mais de 35 mestrados. Atualmente, é responsável pela orientação
de 4 pós-doutoramento e vários mestrados.

Mais de 100 trabalho científicos publicados, aceites ou em publicação em revistas científicas
internacionais especializadas, livros (co-editora e co-autora), capítulos de livros, resumos em
revistas científicas internacionais e nacionais (75), artigos em atas de congressos (27),
autora/co-autora de 240 comunicações orais/painéis em encontros científicos nacionais e
internacionais.
