Rapid Assessment of U.S. Soil Carbon for Climate Change and Conservation Planning
Project – University of Nebraska-Lincoln in partnership with USDA NRCS-National Soil
Survey Center (March 2011 – Present)
Development of Visible Near Infrared (VNIR) models to predict soil properties such as
organic carbon, cation exchange capacity, and clay content
Evaluation of soil property and landscape effects on soil carbon dynamics
Evaluation of ecosystem properties and agricultural management effects on carbon
dynamics
Assist with general project oversight, database design, troubleshoot, quality assurance,
