Portuguese language courses:
The Faculty of Human Sciences offers two Portuguese courses for Erasmus students at the
Catholic University of Portugal (Lisbon):
Intensive Portuguese Course:
This is a 60-hour course, comprising 3 hours a day for 4 weeks in September/October.
A minimum of 15 students is required for the course to take place
(3 hours a day/4 weeks, this may change according to students’ availability)
Annual Portuguese Course:
The annual course begins in September and ends in May/June, with 3 hours of classes per
week:
All lessons are taught in Portuguese, so Erasmus students who do not speak Portuguese will have
difficulty in accompanying the course.
Accommodation:
The university does not have accommodation for students, but can help them find accommodation
in Lisbon.

Procedures:
The students selected to come to the Faculty of Human Sciences in the academic year of
2007-2008 have to fill in the Application Form and send it together with the following
documents:
- A letter showing the reasons to come to Portugal as an Erasmus student (in
Portuguese);
- Two identity card size pictures;
- A copy of the identity card or passport.
Deadlines:
All the above documents should be sent until:
• 15 of June for students coming in the Winter Semester
• 14 of December for students coming in the Summer Semester

When you come to Lisbon, you should bring the European Insurance Card (issued in
your home country) and your proposed study programme, stamped and signed by the
