Visita do Senador Cristovam Buarque a Istambul (22-28/7)
O Senador Cristovam Buarque, a convite do Centro Cultural Brasil-Turquia,
esteve em Istambul de 22 a 28 de julho, quando visitou o jornal Zaman, a
Universidade Fatih, a ONG Kimse Yok Mu e a Fundação de Jornalistas e
Escritores. Foi-lhe oferecido um jantar pelo empresário turco Sr. Ali Ulvi
Orhan.
O Conselheiro José Wilson, chefe do SECOM-Istambul e encarregado de
negócios do Consulado-Geral na ocasião, recepcionou o Senador no
aeroporto e acompanhou-o durante sua agenda oficial.
No dia 25 de julho o Senador visitou o Consulado-Geral, ocasião em que o Conselheiro José Wilson se
reuniu com o Senador e representantes da BAKUM e do CCBT.
The Visit of Senator Cristovam Buarque to Istanbul (22-28/7)
Brazilian Senator Cristovam Buarque was in Istanbul between 22nd and 28th of July as guest of the
Brazil – Turkey Cultural Center (CCBT). He visited the Zaman Newspaper, Fatíh University, ONG
Kimse Yok Mu and The Journalist and Writers Foundation. Afterwards he was invited to a dinner
hosted by Turkish Businessman Mr. Ali Ulvi Orhan.
Counselor José Wilson Moreira, chief of SECOM – Istanbul, chargè of the Consulate General at the
occasion, received the Senator at the airport and accompanied him during his official agenda. On the
25th of July, the Senator made a visit to the Consulate-General of Brazil in Istanbul.

Visita do Navio Escola Brasil a Istambul (2 a 5/9)
O Navio Escola Brasil, pelo 3o ano consecutivo, visitou
Istambul de 2 a 5 de setembro, durante sua tradicional viagem
de formação dos guardas-marinhos brasileiros, com a presença
de guardas-marinhos convidados de diversas marinhas
europeias e sul-americanas.
Acompanhado pelo Adido de Defesa em Ancara, Alan Kardec, e
pelo Secretário José Roberto Brum, o Embaixador Luiz
Henrique Fonseca recebeu o navio na manhã do dia 2, e, no
mesmo dia, participou de almoço oferecido a bordo do Navio
pelo CMG Sérgio Renato Berna Salgueirinho, com a presença
de autoridades turcas e do Secretário de Organização
Institucional do Ministério da Defesa.
Ainda no dia 2, à noite, houve uma grande recepção no
Navio, com show de música brasileira ao vivo e comidas
típicas. Estiveram presentes ao evento autoridades brasileiras
e locais, membros do Corpo Consular em Istambul, Adidos de
Defesa em Ancara, membros da comunidade brasileira em
Istambul, entre outros.
The Visit of Navio Escola Brasil to Istanbul (2-5/9)
The Navio Escola Brasil, on its 3rd year in a row, paid another visit to Istanbul between the 2nd and
the 5th of September, during their traditional journey with the Brazilian Ensigns and with the
presence of invited Ensigns from diverse countries of Europe and Latin America. Accompanied by the
Defence Attache in Ankara, Alan Kardec and by Secretary José Roberto Brum, Ambassador Luiz
Henrique Fonseca welcomed the ship in the morning of September 2nd; on the same date they took
part in the lunch offered on board by CMG Sérgio Renato Berna Salgueirinho with the presence of
Turkish Authorities and the Secretary of Institutional Organization of the Brazilian Ministery of
Defence.
On the night of September 2nd there was a big reception on board, with live Brazilian Music Show
and Brazilian food.At the event there were Turkish and Brazilian Authorities, members of the staff of
the Consulate General in Istanbul, as well as members of the Brazilian community in Istanbul.
Fórum de Governança da Internet - 9a Edição (2 a 5/9) (Internet Governance Forum)
Realizou-se, de 2 a 5 de setembro, em Istambul, a 9a edição do Fórum de Governança na Internet
(IGF). Estiveram presentes diversas autoridades do governo brasileiro,
como o Secretário de Política de Informática do Ministério de Ciência e Tecnologia, Professor Virgílio
Almeida, Secretário de Organização Institucional do Ministério da Defesa, Senhor Luiz Antônio
Cordeiro, dentre outras, assim como representantes da sociedade civil, do setor privado, da academia
e da comunidade técnica, totalizando cerca de 40 pessoas. A delegação foi chefiada pelo Embaixador
Benedito Fonseca Filho, Diretor do Departamento de Ciência e Tecnologia do Itamaraty.
Ao longo de 4 dias de reunião, o IX IGF reuniu 3400 representantes, de mais de 150 países, que
participaram de cerca de 100 seminários, painéis, debates temáticos, fóruns abertos e sessões
informativas, intercalados por “main sessions” dedicadas aos principais temas afetos à governança da
internet, entre os quais neutralidade da rede, privacidade, segurança cibernética, acesso, direitos
humanos, questões relativas ao desenvolvimento, entre outros.

Internet Governance Forum 9th Edition (2-5/9)
The 9th edition of the Internet Governance Forum took place in Istanbul from September 2nd to
September 5th. Among the Authorities from the Brazilian Government present at the event there
were the Secretary of Computing Policy from the Ministery of Science and Technology, Professor
Virgilio Almeida, the Secretary of Institutional Organization of the Ministery of Deffence, Mr. Luiz
Antonio Cordeiro, among others. There were representatives from various Civil Society Organizations,
the private sector, and the academic and technical communities, 40 people in total. The delegation
was led by Ambassador Benedito Fonseca Filho, Director of the Science and Technology Department
of the Brazilian Ministery of External Relations.
During the four days of the Forum there were 3400 representatives from 150 countries that attended
around 100 seminars, panels, themed Debates, open forums and informative sessions, with main
stages dedicated to the most important themes which are effecting the governance of the Internet,
like net neutrality, privacy, ciber security, access, human rights and development-related subjects.
Feira Internacional de Produtos Alimentícios e Tecnologia de Processamento GIDA 2014 ( 4 a 7/9) (GIDA FAIR)
A 22a Feira Internacional de Produtos Alimentícios e Tecnologia de Processamento - GIDA-2014, que
contou com 374 expositores de 24 países, e uma presença estimada de 16 mil visitantes, foi realizada,
de 4 a 7 de setembro em Istambul.
O Consulado-Geral em Istambul organizou um estande na feira, com a participação de funcionários do
SECOM Istambul, e presença de três empresas; Pure Body Beverages, fabricante e exportadora de
água de coco sediada em Curitiba; DEMAK GIDA, representante local do Guaraná Antártica; e Simirna
Dis Ticaret, empresa turca representante das marcas brasileiras Cachaça Bassi, Café Terrara e
Adoçante Stevita.
Durante a cerimônia de abertura, na qual estavam o Embaixador Luiz Henrique Fonseca, o
Conselheiro José Wilson e as funcionárias do SECOM Istambul, discursaram o Vice-Ministro da
Agricultura e Pecuária da Turquia, Kubettin Azru e representantes da organização do evento. Visitaram
o estande brasileiro o Cônsul-Geral da Argentina em Istambul, Embaixador Ernesto Mario Pfirter; o
Embaixador do Peru na Turquia, Jorge Enrique Abarca Del Carpio; e o Conselheiro Comercial da
Embaixada do Peru, Fernando Albareda.

International Food Products and Processing Technologies Exhibition– GIDA 2014 (4-7/9)
The 22nd International Food Products and Processing Technologies Exhibition, which hosted 374
expositors from 24 countries with the presence of 16.000 visitors, took place between the 4th and the
7th of September.
The Consulate-General in Istanbul organized a booth at the fair, with the participation of the
employees of SECOM Istanbul and the presence of three companies : PURE BODY BEVERAGES,
Producer and exporter of Coconut Water situated in Curitiba, DEMAK GIDA, local Guarana Antartica
representative, and SIMIRNA DIS TICARET, representative of Brazilian Brands such as Cachaça Bassi,
Cafe Terrara and Sweetner Stevita.
During the opening cerimony, in which Ambassador Luiz Henrique Fonseca, Counsellor Jose Wilson
Moreira and the employees of SECOM Istanbul were present, there was a speech by the Vice Minister
of Agriculture and livestock of Turkey, Kubettin Arzu, and by Representatives of the Organization of
the
event.
The Brazilian Booth was visited by the Consul General of Argentina in Istanbul, Ambassador Ernesto
Mario Pfirter, by the Ambassador of Peru in Turkey: Jorge Enrique Abarca Del Carpio, and by the
Commercial Consul of the Peruvian Embassy, Fernando Albareda.
Visita a Istambul de Representantes da Secretaria de Educação do Estado
do Rio de Janeiro (7 a 13/9) (Department of Education of the State of Rio
de Janeiro)
Uma comissão de representantes da Secretaria
de Educação do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, a
convite do CCBT, visitou Istambul de 7 a 13 de
setembro. Chefiada por Antoine Azevedo
Lousao, Subsecretário de Gestão de Pessoas, a
delegação foi acompanhada pelo presidente do
CCBT, Mustafa Goktepe, pelo presidente e vicepresidente do BAKUM, Fatih Ugur Ozorpak, e
Nazim Birkent. A delegação visitou o jornal
Zaman, a Universidade Fatih, a Fundação de
Jornalistas e Escritores e a ONG Kimse Yok Mu,
uma das maiores instituições de caridade da
Turquia, que atua em projetos educacionais e
culturais em cerca de 110 países. O Embaixador
Luiz Henrique Fonseca ofereceu um jantar na
residência oficial aos membros da delegação, bem como aos representantes do CCBT e do BAKUM.
O principal resultado da visita, além do possível intercâmbio de estudantes, é a criação de projeto da
Secretaria de Educação do Rio de Janeiro de incluir no currículo de escola estadual em Caxias, com o
apoio do CCBT, o ensino do idioma turco e de matemática e física, com vistas ã participação de alunos
cariocas em olimpíadas internacionais.

The Visit of the Department of Education of the State of Rio De
Janeiro (7-13/9)
A delegation of representatives of the Department of Education of the State of Rio De Janeiro, invited
by CCBT, visited Istanbul from 7 to 13 of September. The commision was led by Antonie Azevedo
Lousao, Under Secretary of Human Resorces, and it was accompanied by the President of CCBT,
Mustafa Goktepe, and by the President and Vice President of BAKUM, Fatih Ugur Özorpak and Nazim
Birkent. The delegation visited Zaman Newspaper, Fatih University, the Journalists and Writers
Foundation and ONG Orada Kimse Yok mu, one of the biggest charity organizations in Turkey, which
takes action with Education and Cultural projects in 110 countries. Ambassador Luiz Henrique Fonseca
offered a dinner at the official residence to the members of the delegation and to the representatives
of CCBT and BAKUM
The main result of the visit, besides a student exchange program, was the creation of a project of the
Department of Education of Rio De Janeiro with the goal -with the help of CCBT- of including
education in the Turkish language and also Maths and Physics to the program of the State School in
Caxias, with the intent of having students from Rio De Janeiro participating in international olympics.
Workshops de promoção do turismo brasileiro (16 e 19/9)
(Workshop for brazilian tourism)
Foram realizados dois workshops para a promoção do
turismo Brasileiro, o primeiro em parceria com a
Associação Turca das Agências de Viagem (TURSAB),
em sua sede, e o segundo em parceria com a Emirates
Airlines, no escritório em Istambul da Companhia Aérea.
O Sr. Sidney Linhares, da empresa brasileira de turismo
Del Bianco, esteve em Istambul e apresentou detalhes
sobre os destinos e sobre a infra-estrutura turística do
nosso País.
O Cônsul-Geral do Brasil em Istambul, Luiz Henrique
Fonseca, bem como o chefe do SECOM José Wilson
Moreira, estiveram presentes ao primeiro workshop, que
contou com a participação de 14 agências turcas, do presidente daTURSAB, Basaran Ulusoy, e do
Especialista de Marketing paraos mercados das Américas e Europa do Norte da Turkish Airlines,
Gayret Yuksel. O Senhor Linhares fez uma apresentação sobre o Brasil e sobre muitas de suas
principais regiões turísticas. Foram apresentados também dois vídeos da Embratur de promoção dos
destinos brasileiros. O workshop encerrou com o sorteio de camisetas e brindes oferecidos pela
empresa Del Bianco.
Ao segundo workshop comparecerama Gerente para Turquia,
Romênia e Bulgária da Emirates Airlines, Bahar Ahmet Birinci,
outros representantes da Emirates Airlines, o Chefe e funcionárias
do SECOM e 16 empresas turcas de turismo. O Senhor Linhares
repetiu sua apresentação O workshop encerrou com o sorteio de
uma viagem para o Brasil e 4 dias de hospedagem em hotel no Rio
de Janeiro.

Workshop for Brazilian Tourism (16-19/9)
Two workshops took place in Istanbul for the promotion of Brazilian Tourism in September, the first
one with the Turkish Tourism Agencies Association TURSAB, at their office, and the second one with
the Emirates Airlines representative in Istanbul. Mr Sidney Linhares, from the Brazilian tourism agency
Del Bianco, was in Istanbul to present the destinations and the touristic infrastructure of our country.
General Consul of Brazil in Istanbul Luiz Henrique Fonseca and the president of SECOM Jose Wilson
Moreira were present at the first workshop, which happened with the participation of 14 Turkish
Agencies, the President of TURSAB, Basaran Ulusoy, and the Specialist of Marketing to Americas and
Northern Europe of Turkish Airlines, Gayret Yuksel. Mr. Linhares made a presentation about Brazil
and its main touristic regions. There were also two promotional videos of EMBRATUR about Brazilian
destinations. The workshop closed with the draw for tshirts and souvenirs offered by the Company
Del Bianco.
The second workshop was realized with the attendence of the Manager for Turkey, Romania and
Bulgaria of Emirates Airlines, Mr. Bahar Ahmet Birinci, the Head and employees of SECOM, and 16
Turkish Tourism Companies. Mr. Linhares repeated his presentation and the workshop ended with a
draw for a ticket to Brazil and 4 days of accomodation in a Hotel in Rio De Janeiro.
Evento “Relações Brasil-Turquia”no Büyük Kulüp - Cercle d’Oriente (25/9)
Realizou-se, em 25 de setembro, o evento "Relações Brasil Turquia", em Istambul, em parceria com o clube social turco
Buyuk Kulup - Cercle d'Oriente. A reunião, com o fim de
apresentar painel sobre as relações comerciais entre Brasil e
Turquia e informar sobre oportunidades de Investimentos no
Brasil, teve cerca de 70 convidados, dentre empresários
turcos convidados pelo Consulado-Geral e membros do clube
interessados no Brasil.
Durante o evento, que contou também com um coquetel, o
chefe do SECOM Istambul, Conselheiro José Wilson Moreira,
após breve discurso de boas vindas do Chefe do Comitê de Relações Internacionais do Buyuk Kulup,
apresentou informações sobre o perfil do Brasil, sua posição na economia mundial, relações
comerciais entre Brasil e Turquia e destinos turísticos brasileiros. Comentou sobre dados geográficos,
perfil democrático e multicultural do País.
Ao mencionar o comércio entre Brasil e Turquia, o Conselheiro Moreira
assinalou que o intercâmbio bilateral atingiu USD 2,3 bilhões em 2013.
Por fim, convidou os empresários turcos a explorarem as
oportunidades de comércio e investimentos
presentes no Brasil e informou sobre a disponibilidade do ConsuladoGeral em apoiá-los. Também foram distribuídos folhetos informativos
sobre o Brasil.

Event ''Relations Brazil-Turkey'' at Buyuk Kulup – Cercle d'Oriente (25/9)
The event “ Brazilian-Turkish Relationships'' occured on the 25th of September with the partnership of
Turkish social club Buyuk Kulup – Cercle d'Oriente. The reunion had the intention of presenting a
panel about commercial relations between Brazil and Turkey as well as informing opportunities for
investments in Brazil. There were around 70 guests, among Turkish businessmen invited by the
General Consulate and members of the Club who are interested in Brazil.
During the event, the chief of SECOM Istanbul, Counselor Jose Wilson Moreira after receiving a quick
welcome from the Head of the Committee of International Relations of Buyuk Kulup, presented
informations about Brazil’s profile, its position in the world economy, the commercial relations
between Brazil and Turkey and the Brazilian touristic destinations. He also made some comments on
the geographical caracteristics, the democratic profile, and the multicultural nature of Brazil.
While talking about the commerce between Brazil and Turkey, Counsellor Moreira remarked that the
bilateral exchange reached to 2,3 billions on 2013. At the end, he invited Turkish Businessmen to
explore the opportunities of commerce and investments in Brazil and informed about the availability
of General Consulate in helping them. Informative flyers about Brazil were also distributed to the
visitors.
Presença da Embraer no Istambul Air Show (25-28/9)
Realizou-se entre 25 e 28 de setembro a feira
de produtos aéreos “Istambul Air Show”, com
forte presença da Embraer. A empresa
brasileira
recentemente
vendeu
oito
aeronaves Embraer 190 para a empresa
aérea regional turca Borajet.
Na tarde do dia 25, o Embaixador em Ancara,
Antônio Salgado, e o Cônsul-Geral em
Istambul,
Luiz
Henrique
Fonseca,
participaram do voo inaugural do Embraer
190 para Bodrum, onde a companhia Borajet ofereceu um jantar para diversos convidados
(representantes de empresas aéreas, da mídia, dentre outros).
No dia 26, o Embaixador Salgado, o Cônsul-Geral Fonseca, e o Chefe do Secom
Istambul José Wilson Moreira visitaram a feira “Istambul Air Show”, ocasião em
que o Diretor de Vendas Ricardo Lugris, da representação da Embraer em
Paris, relatou que 3 dos oito jatos comprados pela Borajet serão alugados pela
Turkish Airlines. Durante a feira, aventou-se a possibilidade de realizar um
evento, em prestigioso hotel em Istambul, para personalidades locais que
possam se interessar na aquisição de jatos executivos.

Presence of Embraer at Istanbul Air Show (25-28/9)
The fair of Aereal Products ''Istanbul Air Show'' took place between the 25th and the 28th of
September with a strong Embraer presence. The Brazilian company recently sold eight Embraer
aircrafts190 to a local Turkish flight company, Borajet.
On the evening of the 25th, the Ambassador in Ankara, Antonio Salgado, and the General Consul in
Istanbul, Luiz Henrique Fonseca took part in the first flight of Embraer 190 to Bodrum, where the
flight company offered a dinner to various guests, such as Representatives of flight companies and
the media.
On the 26th Ambassadors Salgado and Fonseca and the Chief of SECOM Istanbul Jose Wilson
Moreira, visited ''Istanbul Air Show''. During the occasion, Director of Sales of Embraer Paris Ricardo
Lugris reported that 3 of the 8 jets bought by Borajet will be rented to Turkish Airlines. During the fair
he stated that there is a possibility of organizing an event in a prestigious hotel in Istanbul for local
individuals that might be interested in executive jets.
Premiação para Cartunistas da Fundação Aydin Dogan (29/9)
Os cartunistas brasileiros Rafael Correa e Rodrigo
Machado Rosa foram premiados pela Fundação Aydin
Dogan, sediada em Istambul. A cerimônia agracia os
melhores cartunistas, escolhidos por júri internacional.
Este ano, de um total de 814 cartunistas, foram
premiados, além dos dois cartunistas brasileiros, artistas
da Turquia, do Irã, da Polônia, da Holanda e da China. O
Embaixador Luiz Henrique Fonseca, a convite da
Fundação, esteve presente no evento, e recebeu, em
nome de Rodrigo Machado Rosa, que não pôde
comparecer, o troféu e a placa de cristal que constituem o
prêmio.
Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Competition (29/9)
Brazilian cartoonists, Rafael Correia and Rodrigo Machado Rosa received an
award from the Aydin Dogan Foundation based in Istanbul. The ceremony
rewarded the best cartoonists in the world, choosen by an international jury.
This year a total of 814 cartoonists were awarded. In addition to the two
Brazilian cartoonists, artists from Turkey, Iran,Polonia, the Netherlands and
China were also rewarded. Ambassador Luiz Henrique Fonseca was also present
at the event and received, on behalf of Rodrigo Machado Rosa who could not
attend the event, an award in a form of a crystal plate and a trophy.
