Acquired competences
Synthesis :
Elaboration of pseudo-C-nucleosides using heterofunctional groups (namely
oxazoline-2-thiones) anchored on carbohydrate templates with a view to devising and
developing promising bioorganic drugs. Development of new palladium-catalysed cross
coupling reactions, involving thionocarbamate-type moieties anchored on carbohydrate
templates.
Synthesis of pseudo-iminosugars and their biological evaluation.
Synthesis of paromomycin derived amonoglycoside antibiotics in large scale (25
g after 8 or more steps).

Synthesis of water soluble photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy
applications.
Analysis :
NMR spectroscopy (graphical interpretation 1D – 1H RMN and 13C RMN – and
2D – COSY, NOESY, HMBC, HMQC), UV-Visible, FT-IR spectroscopies and mass
spectrometry, HPLC and MPLC.
Data processing :
Windows (all versions), Excel, Word, Powerpoint, as well as the main chemistry
softwares (ChemDraw, Isis Draw, SciFinder, Beilstein, Topspin, MestreC).
