EUROPe AND BRAZIL WORKING TOGETHEr
is a non-profit-making association
created with the aim of supporting
the development of successful business
relations between the European Union
and Brazil, and at the same time
promoting political and cultural links
between the two partners.
Major EUBrasil Activities
Major EUBrasil Objectives
• To promote a strong and harmonious bilateral
dialogue between economic and political actors
in Brazil and the EU.
• To seek out solutions to overcome the structural
obstacles inherent in relations between
the EU and Brazil.
• To promote economic, cultural and social
co-operation.
• To support governmental initiatives for
the establishment of an Association Agreement,
and the creation of a free trade zone between
the EU and Mercosur.
• To develop political communication aimed
at promoting Brazilian interests in the EU
and vice versa.
“
• To create the EUBrasil Business Round Table
where top political and economic actors,
European and Brazilian, may meet and debate
issues of mutual interest.
• To analyze the evolution of the bilateral dialogue
and to propose new measures to enhance
co-operation between the two communities.
• To create a strong network of associations of
professionals and experts, European and Brazilian,
concerned with, or interested in, promoting bilateral
co-operation.
• To promote common plans in order to benefit
from European co-operation initiatives and
in particular those regarding research and
development.
EUBrasil contributes to enhancing the bilateral
dialogue between the two partners by, among
other measures, establishing a communication forum
that brings together all the interested stakeholders,
and by promoting bilateral meetings and
co-operation initiatives at various levels.
It is my conviction that
EUBrasil has all the potential
to become a pillar in the
relations between Europe and Brazil.
In fact, stimulating the strengthening of co-operation
between the parties will play a very important role
in the development of the two economic areas Zeinal Bava, CEO Portugal Telecom
”
“
Economic co-operation between Brazil and Europe has enormous
potential for growth. We must work together, Brazilians and Europeans,
to realise this potential in the form of greater investment and increased
trade between the two areas. For this we need a more ambitious
agenda between Brazil and Europe Luigi Gambardella, President EUBrasil

”
I think this initiative provides a unique opportunity
to express the vision of European industry in
general and of the telecommunications sector
in particular. It finds its role in the context of highlevel engagements which
seek to deepen relations
between the EU and
Brazil, a nation which is
increasingly demonstrating
its growing importance
in the international
community ”
Cesar Alierta,
Executive Chairman Telefonica
“
Foreign direct investments in Brazil
are important in order to increase mutual
confidence between Brazilian
and European entrepreneurs.
It is necessary now to
encourage the Brazilian
companies to develop their
international dimension by
investing in the EU Alfredo Valladão,
