Banif – Banco Internacional do Funchal S.A. streamlines the Board of
Directors

Banif – Banco Internacional do Funchal, S.A. (‘Banif’) informs about the reduction of the number of members of the Board of Directors of its three banks in Portugal. This reduction is associated with the strategic repositioning of the Bank, along the lines set forth in the ongoing discussions between the Portuguese State and the European Commission regarding its restructuring plan. The restructuring plan will include focusing the bank in the segments and regions that are more profitable and creating a Legacy Unit to separately manage the divestment of business units and activities. As such, the reduction of the Board of Directors aims to create a leaner and more focused management team for each bank that will be supported by a shared back‐office structure, aligned with the current practice of the Group. At Banif SA, the Board of Directors is reduced from 12 to 9 members, and the Executive Committee is reduced from 8 to 5 members. Banif – Banco internacional do Funchal, SA

According to the resignation letters dully presented, Mr. José António Vinhas Mouquinho, Mr. Carlos Eduardo Pais e Jorge e Mr. Gonçalo Vaz Gago da Câmara de Medeiros Botelho cease their respective functions on the Board of Directors of Banif as of the 31st of August.
