Multiplus and Pague Menos drugstore chain sign a partnership agreement
São Paulo, December 14, 2011 - Multiplus (BM&FBOVESPA: MPLU3), a coalition network that
unites several companies and loyalty programs, has signed a partnership intent agreement with
the Pague Menos drugstore chain. Beginning in the second half of 2012, clients purchasing
products at any of the 480 Pague Menos stores will accrue points that can be redeemed for
products within the same chain or in other Multiplus network partners. The agreement underlines
the Company's strategy of increasing its presence in several Brazilian regions, as its new partner
has a high number of stores in the Northeast.
In fact, Pague Menos is the largest drugstore chain in the Northeast and the only one present in all
Brazilian states and the Federal District, with over 480 stores in 180 municipalities, and 13,000
employees. Headquartered in Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará state, the chain is currently seeking
to diversify its product mix, providing services and selling convenience products and perfumery.
The partnership also assures greater penetration for the Multiplus brand.
