Engineering and Construction
Leader in Portugal and with a prominent position in various
markets in Europe, Africa and Latin America, the Group carried
out construction projects in more than 30 countries, affirming
the technical skill demonstrated in each project and building
an excellent reputation in the technical areas of civil construction
and public works, distinguishing itself in the construction
of various infrastructures such as roads, highways, airports,

With a majority holding in SUMA, the largest operator in waste collection,
management and recycling in Portugal, Mota-Engil is fulfilling
its ambition to lead this sector, operating increasingly in Angola,
Mozambique, Cape Verde, Poland and more recently in Mexico.
Water Concession
Through INDAQUA, Mota-Engil is engaged in the management
and operation of municipal water concessions, an area in which
it holds an important position in the Portuguese market, present
also in Angola and Macau.
Multiservices
As a complement to its activities in the area of the construction
and management of infrastructures, Mota-Engil is working
in the area Maintenance through Manvia, a major company
in this field in Portugal with operations in Africa, as well.
Additionally, the Group is involved in Landscape Architecture,
through Vibeiras, a leader in Portugal in this segment, which
has done significant works in Africa.
Transport Concessions
Mota-Engil assumes an important role in the management
of an infrastructure concession which holds a network
of over 3000 km, operating in Portugal, Spain, Brazil,
Mexico, Mozambique and more recently in Colombia.
Mining
This sector is the most recent bet of the Mota-Engil Group,
as Mota-Engil Mining has undertaken prospecting projects
in Africa, benefitting from the Group’s long experience gained
in the execution of civil construction and earthmoving projects.
The company is carrying out this type of work for some
of the largest mining companies in the world.

Africa is a natural market for the Mota-Engil Group for a long
and acknowledged 68 years’ experience in a journey
initiated in Angola, country where the Group counts with
Mota-Engil Angola one of the country’s major builders
and a reference in the market. The Group’s growing bet
in Angola in other areas of business such as environment,
logistics and industry is also relevant.
With a deep knowledge of the African market,
strengthened through a journey of continuous expansion,
Mota-Engil is currently present in Mozambique, Malawi,
South Africa, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe,
Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana and Uganda.
With a unique position in Africa, ensured by a deep
sense of partnership, for its portfolio and investment
continuously renewed in the ability to mobilize resources
to carry out large dimension projects, Mota-Engil Africa
has a long-term strategic outlook and an expanded horizon
for work, seeking to develop partnerships to carry out
projects in the areas of infrastructures in areas as diverse
as Transports and Logistic, Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining and
Environment.
With the recent expansion towards new SADC countries
and the activity development dynamic to an annual
value of 1,300 million dollars the recent option to list the
company, Mota-Engil Africa holds technical and financial
skills, based on a development strategy with a corporate
position of Construction Company and EPC, in order to
develop the project tailored to its clients, aiming at raising
the African continent to the dimension of its economic

Mota-Engil has been present in Latin America since
1998, having started up its activity in the region in Peru,
over the last 16 years making a growing investment in
the development of its local structure and strengthening
the technical skills which enable Mota-Engil Peru to be,
today, a key company in the engineering and construction
area, with an acknowledged portfolio in the areas of civil
construction, public works and projects in the area
of mining and with a diversification strategy, translated
in investments in areas such as port concessions,
it currently holds the Port of Paita Concession,
the country’s second largest and also in Energy.
Believing in the potential of Latin America, the Group
fostered the expansion of its presence in the region,
towards markets such as Mexico, Brazil and Colombia,
executing key construction projects in various Engineering
and Construction Technical Areas, also having in its
portfolio highway concessions in Mexico ( Perote-Xalapa
in Vera Cruz , Gran Canal - Siervo de la Nación in Mexico
City and Cardel - Poza Rica), Brazil (Rodovias do Tietê) and
Colombia (connection Pacific 2 in Antioquia).
With a very significant growth in recent years, the Group
has an Order Book of over 1, 800 million dollars in the
areas of Engineering and Construction, also having
investment underway or being assessed in the areas of
Environment, Logistics, Energy and new Road Concessions.

Transportation Infrastructures
Operation of seven highway concessions under the Ascendi
name, with approximately 1,300 km of highways and motorways:
North, Costa de Prata, Beira Litoral and Beira Alta, Greater Porto,
Greater Lisbon, Douro Interior, Pinhal Interior. It also has a minority
holding in Scutvias, Vialitoral, Lusoponte, concessionaire of the
two bridges in Lisbon and in MTS – Metro, Transportes do Sul, S.A.

Mota-Engil has been strengthening its position
in the segment of Concessions of Transport
Infrastructures, through Ascendi. Besides its
operations in Portugal, the company is present
in five other countries on three continents, managing
a network of more than 3000 km under concession.
Ports
Mota-Engil is responsible for the concession
of the port of Paita, in Peru, through TPE –
Terminais Portuários Euroandinos, over
a period of 30 years. In Spain, through its
subsidiary FCT – Ferrol Container Terminal,
the Group assumed the construction, equipping
and operation of the container terminal of Puerto
Exterior de Ferrol for 35 years. In Malawi and since
2013, through Malawi Shipping Company,
the Group operates 4 ports in Lake Malawi,
in a 35 - year concession.

Mota-Engil on the Stock Market
Mota-Engil is a company listed in the main index of the
Portuguese stock exchange (PSI 20) with a share capital
of 204,635,695 euros.
With a long tradition of presence in the capital markets,
Mota-Engil has its own history of constitution associated
with operations on the securities exchange that resulted
in a merger between Mota & Companhia and Engil, from
which came Mota-Engil, leader of the sector in Portugal.
Shareholders
The major part of the shareholders structure of the
Mota-Engil Group (56%) is made up of the Mota Family
through FM- Sociedade de Controlo.
Performance on the Stock Exchange
The rise of Mota-Engil shares was very prominent being
the share with the biggest appreciation in 2013 in the
Portuguese Stock Exchange with + 175.8%, remaining in line
with the appreciation in 2012 (+51.4%).

best stock market performance in 2013 at the Investors
and Governance Awards, also receiving the best Investor
Relations Officer award.
At its General Meeting, the Group approved the distribution
of a gross dividend of 12.5 cents per share, which was

shareholder remuneration that has remained stable over
the last several years.
