São Paulo, 28th February 2013 - BTG Pactual hereby announces the start of its activities in the insurance
and reinsurance market. Focused on the infrastructure sector, the bank will use insurance brokers as the
main distribution channel for its insurance/reinsurance operations.
The insurance company will provide the market with products such as performance bonds for engineering
and oil (offshore and onshore) projects, and civil liability in construction works. The bank will also offer
differentiated products via partnerships with the biggest and best international reinsurance firms, such as
IRB Brasil Re.
“Our focus is on maintaining individual relationships with each of our clients”, stated André Gregori, the
head of BTG Pactual’s insurance company. The new operation already has a highly specialized team with
a solid reputation in the market and a track record of operations in infrastructure project insurance and risk
analysis.
André Gregori also stressed the synergies with BTG Pactual’s business lines and global platform. “The
environment of the insurance and reinsurance operations will be fully aligned with the bank’s culture, giving
a more efficient product/service to our clients and more security to our partners”, he stated.
In addition to the team, one of the main investments was in developing state-of-the-art systems and digital
technology, related to the paper-less model.
