Jim Allen, Managing Director and Head of Latin American M&A at Morgan Stanley, will start
the day with a survey on the current prospects for PE in the region, based on the bank's
data on regional M&A activity and macroeconomic and sector prospects.
Cate Ambrose, President and Executive Director of the Latin American Private Equity &
Venture Capital Association, will follow Jim and provide a data-filled survey of the private
equity industry in Latin America, including looking at legal and regulatory updates planned
for this year – Does the oil prices swoon doom energy exporting nations across the region?
Will low prices kill expected benefits from Mexican energy reform? Will Brazil and
