Descriptions of the main sectors
 Arquibancada (grandstand) sector 3 or 5
Characteristics: Popular profile, located at the beginning of the parade zone, without pre-booked seats and so without any booking control. Mainly used for
raffles and promotions among customers of supermarkets and department stores.
 Arquibancada (grandstand) sector 09
Characteristics: Tourist profile, located in the middle of the parade zone, with pre-booked seats and special assistance. Mainly used by incoming pax.
 Arquibancada (grandstand) sector 11
Characteristics: Tourist profile, located at the end of the parade zone, without pre-booked seats, though much used by groups of cruise ships and as awards by
telephone companies.
 Frisas (Front boxes):
The front boxes (uncovered, with 6 numbered chairs) offer the same standard of comfort throughout all sectors, e.g.: front box 7 or 5 offer the same type of
seats, distribution and view than those of front box 9, however sector 9 is also classified as the tourist sector and has a higher price, however this doesn’t
mean that it is better.

- Every Samba school (2000 to 4000 participants) has 1 hour and 20 minutes to present itself, walking and dancing the aprox. 700 m long Avenida Marquês de
Sapucaí from one end to the other end of the “Praça da Apoteose”. Between 2 schools there is a short interval.
- At approximately 17:00 or 18:00 - Pick up at Hotel
- At approximately 02:00 - First transfer to Hotel, offered to those who like to return earlier to the hotel
- At approximately 06:00 - Second transfer to Hotel (this second transfer is planned immediately after the last samba school, which means that if the last
school ends its presentation at let’s say 07:00, the transfer will be at about 07:15.)
