Academic Requirements
All disciplines are taught in Portuguese.
There is no maximum number of disciplines the

subjects of different courses and at different
Schools, Faculties, Institutions, etc.
The School of Architecture and Urbanism
(Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo – FAU)
and the School of Economics, Business and
Accountancy (Faculdade de Economia,
Administração e Contabilidade – FEA) receive
each semester a large number of applications
and have limited capacity to admit exchange
students.
Therefore, applications for such schools will be
analyzed according to existing academic
agreements between USP and its partners. We
highly recommend students interested in
attending classes of such areas to verify
exchange programs available in other
campuses of USP.
Many disciplines have special curriculum
requirements that students should take into
account before submitting there applications.
Therefore, the requests will be analyzed
considering the Transcription of Records and
the Study Plan.
Special requirements:
School of Engineering (Escola Politécnica)
requires applicants to choose at least 12 credits
in disciplines offered by this School.
School of Economics, Business Administration
and Accounting at Ribeirão Preto (Faculdade de
Economia e Administração de Ribeirão Preto FEARP) requires applicants to enroll in at least
16 credits in disciplines offered by the school.

Accommodation Service Website
For students looking for accommodation
USP has no accommodation nor does it own houses
inside or outside of the campus of São Paulo.
The service Info Housing doesn’t book spaces or
look for options for exchange students. The search
for accommodation must be carried out by the
interested person in accordance to his/her economic
conditions and interests.
For the immediate arrival accommodation, VRERI
can appoint hostels specialized in receiving
exchange students. The request for such
information must be made via e-mail
[email protected].
We also advise students that housing for the
exchange period requires the signature of a
contract. It is the right of everyone, including the
exchange student, to protect him/herself according
to the law. This contract is made in written
confirming and guaranteeing all the rights and
obligations of the tenant and the landlord’s.
The rent rates of a room or accommodation can
greatly vary, depending on location and features
offered by the house and the neighborhood.
For further information regarding housing outside of
the Capital São Paulo, please contact the Local
