Obrigado por adquirir o TX-LOWER, da Tokai. Este elegante controlador MIDI foi
cuidadosamente desenvolvido para o uso em conjunto com, o já consagrado, TOKAI TX-5,
ampliando as possibilidades musicais do executante durante a performance. O TX-LOWER pode,
ainda, com seus recursos de TRANSPOSE, VELOCITY RESPONSE e MIDI CHANNEL, ser
utilizado com outros equipamentos MIDI (módulos de som, computadores, etc). Recomendamos
que você leia este guia atentamente a fim de usufruir, de maneira correta, todas as possibilidades
deste fabuloso equipamento. Agora, aprecie seu novo TX-LOWER da TOKAI.
Cuidados especiais
Como todo e qualquer equipamento eletrônico, seu TX-LOWER é delicado e merece algumas
atenções especiais.
•
Antes de ligar o equipamento, observe a voltagem local.
•
Ao ligar ou desligar da tomada, jamais puxar pelo cabo, e sim pelo plugue, a fim de evitar danos
ao mesmo ou ao próprio teclado.
•
Desligue o aparelho da tomada se não for utilizá-lo por um longo tempo ou quando um temporal
estiver se aproximando.
•
Não coloque o instrumento em superfícies instáveis, evitando, assim, riscos de queda.
•
Verifique periodicamente o estado do pino da tomada e limpe-o sempre que necessário.
•
Não exponha seu TX-LOWER à luz solar direta, locais úmidos, excessivamente quentes ou
empoeirados.
•
Limpe o painel apenas com uma flanela seca e macia. Na parte de madeira externa pode ser
utilizado um pano levemente umedecido com lustra-móveis de boa qualidade.
•
Nunca utilize solventes como, por exemplo, thinner e benzina.
•
Evite o contato de objetos pontiagudos ou quaisquer outros que possam riscar e danificar o painel
e a parte de madeira externa.
•
Não abra o equipamento em hipótese alguma, sob pena de perder a garantia. Caso você perceba
algum tipo de mau funcionamento no TX-LOWER, contate nosso departamento de assistência
técnica ou seu revendedor autorizado TOKAI.
•
Os botões do painel utilizam sistema light touch, que são feitos para responder ao toque mais
suave. Portanto, ao pressioná-los, faça-o de forma natural, sem forçar os mesmos.
A TOKAI não se responsabiliza por danos causados pelo uso indevido, ou modificações efetuadas no instrumento.

Aplicações
Using TX-LOWER with TX-5 - On TX MODE
Neste modo, todas as funções e configurações serão controladas pelo TX-5. Assim o TXLOWER estará fazendo a função de um segundo teclado (lower) do TX-5. Lembramos que embora
o TX-LOWER possa ser utilizado com outros equipamentos midi, ele foi especialmente projetado e
produzido para a utilização com o TX-5. Logo, suas medidas e design foram convenientemente
pensadas para um encaixe e conexão perfeitas com o mesmo. Veja as figuras abaixo:

Conectando o TX-LOWER ao TX-5
01.Conecte uma extremidade do cabo midi na saída MIDI OUT do TX-LOWER.
02.Conecte, então, a outra extremidade do cabo na entrada midi PEDAL BOARD do TX-5.
• Entrando no modo TX MODE
Neste modo, todas as funções serão controladas pelo TX-5.
01.Mantenha pressionado por alguns segundos o botão [TX MODE], localizado no painel frontal do TX-LOWER,
fazendo com que o led gradualmente acenda-se até sua totalidade. Pronto! O modo TX-MODE está acionado.
Obs.: Sempre que reiniciado, o TX-LOWER entrará no modo TX-MODE, a não ser que o contrário tenha sido
armazenado na função STORE DEFAULTS (descrita mais adiante).
•
Utilizando o TX-LOWER com o TX-5 ou outros equipamentos MIDI – fora do modo TX
MODE
Fora do modo TX MODE, o TX-LOWER estará fazendo a função de um controlador MIDI
comum, podendo ser utilizado com outros equipamentos MIDI, como por exemplo, um
computador, um módulo de som, o próprio TX-5, etc.
Conectando o TX-LOWER a outro equipamento MIDI
01.Conecte uma extremidade do cabo midi na saída MIDI OUT do TX-LOWER.
02.Conecte, então, a outra extremidade do cabo na entrada midi MIDI IN do equipamento.
•
Saindo do modo TX MODE
Fora do modo TX MODE, as funções próprias do TX-LOWER, como TRANSPOSE, VELOCITY RESPONSE e MIDI
CHANNEL, poderão ser configuradas através do próprio TX-LOWER.
01.Mantenha pressionado por alguns segundos o botão [TX MODE], localizado no painel frontal do TX-LOWER,
fazendo com que o led gradualmente apague-se até sua totalidade. Pronto! O modo TX-MODE não está mais acionado.
•
Funções do TX-LOWER
As TRANSPOSE, VELOCITY RESPONSE e MIDI CH, descritas abaixo, somente surtirão efeito
com o modo TX MODE desabilitado.
•
TRANSPOSE - Transposição
Esta função permite transpor o teclado do TX-LOWER.
01.Mantenha pressionado por alguns segundos o botão [TRANSPOSE], localizado no painel frontal do TX-LOWER,
fazendo com que o led comece a piscar.
02.Com o led ainda piscando, pressione uma tecla referente à transposição desejada, considerando que a nota C04
representa transposição 00, a nota B03 -01, A#03 -02, etc. A nota C#04 +01, D04 +02, etc.
•
VELOCITY RESPONSE - Ajuste de resposta da velocidade
Esta função permite selecionar um dos quatro níveis de resposta à velocidade do toque nas teclas.
01.Mantenha pressionado por alguns segundos o botão [VELOCITY RESPONSE], localizado no painel frontal do TXLOWER, fazendo com que o led comece a piscar.
02.Com o led ainda piscando, pressione uma tecla referente a um dos quatro níveis de resposta desejado.
C01 = SOFT
D01 = MEDIUM
E01 = FIRM
F01 = HARD
•
MIDI CH - Seleção do canal midi
Esta função permite selecionar em qual dos 16 canais midi o TX-LOWER irá operar.
01.Mantenha pressionados, simultaneamente, por alguns segundos os botões [TRANSPOSE] e [VELOCITY
RESPONSE], localizados no painel frontal do TX-LOWER, fazendo com que os leds de ambos comecem a piscar.
02.Com os leds ainda piscando, pressione uma tecla referente ao canal midi desejado:
C01=canal 01
D01=canal 02
E01=canal 03
F01=canal 04
G01=canal 05
A01=canal 06
B01=canal 07
C02=canal 08
•
D02=canal 09
E02=canal 10
F02=canal 11
G02=canal 12

STORE DEFAULTS - Armazenamento das configurações
Está função permite armazenar as configurações feitas no TX-LOWER.
01.Mantenha pressionados, simultaneamente, por alguns segundos os botões [TX MODE] e [VELOCITY RESPONSE],
localizados no painel frontal do TX-LOWER, fazendo com que os leds de ambos comecem a piscar. Pronto! As
configurações feitas no TX-LOWER foram armazenadas na memória.

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing TOKAI TX-LOWER. This elegant midi keyboard have been carefully
designed to bring TX-5 users more expressive and unlimited possibilities. The TX-LOWER can
even be used with other midi machines (sound modules, computers, etc). Please the read this guide
thoroughly for perfect operation of this great instrument. Now, enjoy your new TOKAI TXLOWER.
Safety Precautions
Like any other eletronic instruments, your TX-LOWER is fragile! So observe the following
safety precautions to avoide the possibility of damage to the instrument.
•
Connect the AC cable adapter only to an outlet that supplies the rated voltage required by your
keyboard.
•
When removing the electrical cord, always hold the plug.
•
Unplug this apparatus when unused for a long period of time, or during electrical storms.
•
Do not place the instrument on an unstable surfaces.
•
If the power cord is damaged, please change it with the same specifications .
•
Do not expose your TX-LOWER in direct sunlight, dump places, extreme heat or dust.
•
When cleaning the panel, use just a soft dry cloth. In the external wood cabinet you can use a
good-quality furniture cleaner.
•
Never use solvents, thinners or cleaning fluids.
•
Do not attempt to open the unit or internal circuits. In case of your TX-LOWER should appear to
be malfunctioning, please immediately contact qualified service personnel.
•
As the buttons on the TX-LOWER are light-touch system, press them softly in order to avoid
damage to it.
TOKAI connot be held responsible for damage caused by improper use or modification to the instrument!

Applications
Using TX-LOWER with TX-5 - In TX MODE
In TX MODE, all the functions and adjustments will be controlled throughout TX-5. Thus, TXLOWER is just going to be used as a second keyboard (lower) of TX-5. Have in mind that although
TX-LOWER can be utilized with other midi equipments, it have been specially designed for use
with TX-5. So, its dimensions, color, design, etc, were conveniently conceived for a perfect match
with TX-5. See pictures below:

Connecting TX-LOWER to the TX-5
TX-LOWER is connected to the TX-5 using a standard MIDI cable.
01.Connect your midi cable to the MIDI OUT terminal of the TX-LOWER.
02.Then, connect the other plug to the PEDAL BOARD terminal of the TX-5.
• Enter TX MODE
In this mode, all functions will be controlled throughout TX-5.
01.Press and hold [TX MODE] button, located on the TX-LOWER front panel. The led starts blinking and then it will
stop with its light on. It's done! TX-LOWER is in TX MODE.
Note: By default factory setting, TX MODE is automaticly actived on restarting the keyboard, unless you use the
STORE DEFAULTS function (described further).
•
Using TX-LOWER with TX-5 or other MIDI equipments - Out of TX MODE
Out of TX MODE, the TX-LOWER is utilized as a common midi controller, and can be used
with other midi equipments, for exemple, a computer, a sound module, the TX-5, etc.
Connecting the TX-LOWER to the other midi equipments
TX-LOWER is connected to the other midi equipments using a standard MIDI cable.
01.Connect your midi cable to the MIDI OUT terminal of the TX-LOWER.
02.Then, connect the other plug to the MIDI IN terminal of the other equipment.
•
Quit TX MODE
Out of TX MODE, all TX-LOWER functions (TRANSPOSE, VELOCITY RESPONSE and MIDI CHANNEL), can be
configured throughout TX-LOWER itself.
01.Press and hold [TX MODE] button, located on the TX-LOWER front panel. The led starts blinking and then it will
stop with its light off. It's done! TX-LOWER is not in TX MODE.
•
TX-LOWER functions
The TX-LOWER functions (TRANSPOSE, VELOCITY RESPONSE and MIDI CH) can be set just
in TX MODE off.
•
TRANSPOSE
This function allows the overall pitch of the TX-LOWER to be transposed up or down.
01.Press and hold [TRANSPOSE] button, located on the TX-LOWER front panel. The led will blink.
02.Press a key note that refers to the transposition desired, considering that:
C04 note is related to transposition 00, B03 -01, A#03 -02, etc. A nota C#04 +01, D04 +02, etc.
•
VELOCITY RESPONSE
This function sets the keyboard touch sensitivity. You can choose one of the four levels available.
01.Press and hold [VELOCITY RESPONSE] button, located on the TX-LOWER front panel. The led will blink.
02.Press a key note that refers to the level desired, considering that:
C01 = SOFT
D01 = MEDIUM
E01 = FIRM
F01 = HARD
•
MIDI CH - Midi channel select
This function allows the TX-LOWER to be assigned to different MIDI channels.
01.Press and hold, simultaneously, [TRANSPOSE] and [VELOCITY RESPONSE] buttons, located on the TX-LOWER
front panel. The leds will blink.
02.Press a key note that refers to the midi channel desired, considering that:
C01=channel 01
D01=channel 02
E01=channel 03
F01=channel 04
G01=channel 05
A01=channel 06
B01=channel 07
C02=channel 08
•
D02=channel 09
E02=channel 10
F02=channel 11
G02=channel 12
A02=channel 13
B02=channel 14
C03=channel 15
D03=channel 16
STORE DEFAULTS
This function allows the function adjustments, made in TX-LOWER, to be stored in the TX-LOWER internal memory.
01.Press and hold, simultaneously, [TX MODE] and [VELOCITY RESPONSE] buttons, located on the TX-LOWER
front panel. The leds will blink. It's done! All the configurations made in TX-LOWER were stored in the internal
memory.
