1. Description:
Biomassa is an innovative high performance mortar, with economic and
sustainable benefits for settlements in the vertical sealing systems. Its major
difference is that Biomassa comes ready for immediate use. Just open the
package and it’s ready to apply. The mixture of water, additives or preparation
is NOT required. Biomassa has far superior yield compared to conventional
mortar (with sand, lime and cement), and its application is much faster. The
packaging itself is already the applicator and ensures work without dirt and with
much more quality and practicality. It also reduces the amount of material in the
work area and facilitates logistics and internal controls. It is a viable solution for
large and small buildings.

4. Advantages:
Biomassa has twenty times more yield than the conventional mortar * and
provides 95% reduction in water consumption * in vertical sealing systems.

5. Limitations:
Not recommended for systems with structural functions without prior review by
the engineer responsible. Do not apply in damp blocks with excessive dust, dirt
or contaminants.
6. Foundations:
The foundation must be leveled and ready to accommodate the construction
phase of the vertical sealing systems. The first row, next to the foundation may
be carried out with conventional mortar.
7. Blocks:
Biomass can be used in concrete, ceramic and ecological blocks. The blocks
must meet the manufacturing requirements, performance and durability as
established in specific standards.
8. Method of Application
• Open the package in the indicated mark ensuring that the strands has
approximately 1.0 cm width during application;
• Perform the first row as Item 6 guidelines;
• Use level and plumb (or similar tools) along the entire construction process of
the vertical sealing system;
• Holding with one hand on the front of the pack (to guide the application), press
the back, twisting the packaging to occur when the product;
• Make two continuous strands of about 1.0 cm along the entire row of blocks;
• Firmly press the blocks to ensure that the two beads are scattered on the
surface between them.
• It is recommended that every five rows, uses most more amount of Biomassa
or conventional mortar to correct the level depending on the quality of the
blocks.
• When the wall is approximately 1.5 m high, wait at least two hours to get on
with masonry.
• Setting by the structural element can be carried out with Biomassa since the
maximum distance of 3.0 mm is observed. Wire screens for improved anchoring
and stability can be used.

• The vertical joints between the blocks can also be filled with Biomassa. For
tests without the vertical joint, by comparison, the minimum performance
requirements were respected.

10. Cure
The mortar will bring minimum stability to the wall after 2.0 hours. Full cure for
maximum resistance occurs after 72 hours.
11. Yield:
The consumption of Biomassa ranges from 1.7 kg / m² and 1.5 kg / m². That is,
a yield twenty times higher the conventional cement *
12. Performance:
The seated vertical sealing system with Biomassa was assessed as the main
tests described in NBR 15575: 2013 (Brazilian Standard) and referenced
compared to conventional mortar. Soft body impact tests were performed,
suspended loads, hard body impact resistance operations, thermal performance
analysis, acoustic and sealing. In all tests, the performance was similar or
superior to conventional mortar. Its use in walls for structural masonry must
be based on analyzes carried out by the engineer responsible for the structural
design and is not recommended without a prior study.
13. Storage:
Keep container closed. Store in a cool and shaded area. Do not store in hot or
humid places. Non-flammable product. The packaging must not be stacked.
The box with 06 tubes have maximum stack of 05 boxes. After use bend the tip
of the package to avoid excessive drying of the product.
14. Presentation:
Boxes of 18.0 kg with six packages 3.0 kg each.
15. Validity:
12 months from date of manufacture
16. Care:
Do not reuse empty packages. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not
ingest. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water. In case of
accidental ingestion or inhalation, do not induce vomiting and seek medical
advice immediately taking with the package.
* The yield can vary according to the labor quality, the type and quality of the
