Winners of the Portuguese National Urban
Rehabilitation Awards to be revealed in April
In an initiative which is a first for Portugal, the Portuguese National
Rehabilitation Awards will be held for the first time in 2012, distinguishing
the best projects completed nationwide in the urban regeneration and
rehabilitation area. The winners will be revealed on April 3rd.

Reabilitação Urbana conhecidos em Abril
Numa iniciativa inédita em Portugal, o Prémio Nacional da Reabilitação Urbana será
atribuído pela primeira vez em 2013, distinguido os melhores projetos concluídos na
área da reabilitação e regeneração urbana. Os vencedores serão conhecidos a 3 de Abril.
Apresentado no passado mês de Dezembro, o Prémio Nacional da Reabilitação Urbana (PNRU) é uma iniciativa conjunta da Vida Imobiliária e da Promevi, que ambicionam torná-lo nos galardões de referência no imobiliário
nacional. Nesta primeira edição, e apesar do ano de crise, a iniciativa mereceu a adesão de um elevado número de intervenções emblemáticas – mais
de 40 – no âmbito da reabilitação urbana, de norte a sul do país. Entre vários
outros, a reabilitação da Ala Nascente do Terreiro do Paço, a Cidadela de
Cascais, o Convento das Bernardas Residence, o Liberdade Street Fashion,
o Palácio do Contador Mor, o Roca Lisboa Gallery, a Plataforma das Artes e
da Criatividade, o Passeio dos Clérigos, o Porto Renovato ou o edifício Rosa
Araújo 49, foram alguns dos projetos que apostaram neste prémio.
Unveiled in December, the Portuguese National Urban Rehabilitation
Awards is a joint venture between Vida Imobiliária magazine and Promevi,
which aim to make them a benchmark reference for Portugal's real estate
sector. In this first edition, and despite the crisis, the initiative has enjoyed a
high number of top quality and emblematic projects - over 40 - within the
urban rehabilitation field, from up and down the country. From amongst
others, the rehabilitation of Ala Nascente do Terreiro do Paço, the Cidadela
de Cascais, the Convento das Bernadas Residence, Liberdade Street Fashion,
the Palácio do Contador Mor, the Roca Lisboa Gallery, the Plataforma das
Artes e da Creatividade, the Passeio dos Clérigos, the Porto Renovato and
Rosa Araújo 49 were some of the projects selected for these awards.
O Júri é soberano neste prémio, cabendo-lhe avaliar todas as candidaturas e
sendo totalmente da sua responsabilidade a escolha dos projetos finalistas
e, depois, dos vencedores em cada categoria. É constituído por um painel
de personalidades independentes e referências no panorama económico
e imobiliário nacional, incluindo os nomes de André Jordan (Presidente do
Grupo Jordan), António Tomás Correia (Presidente do Conselho de Administração do Grupo Montepio Geral), Augusto Mateus (Presidente da Augusto
Mateus & Associados), Luís Lima (Presidente da APEMIP e da CIMLOP) e Gonçalo Byrne (Presidente da Gonçalo Byrne Arquitetos).
The award-winners will be selected by a jury, which will evaluate all of the
candidates and will have total responsibility for choosing the finalists and,
then, the winners in each category. The jury is made up of a panel of independent judges all of whom are references in Portugal's national and economic landscape, including the names of André Jordan (President of the
Jordan Group), António Tomás Correia (President of the Board of Directors of
Montepio Geral), Augusto Mateus (President of Augusto Mateus & Associados), Luís Lima (President of APEMIP and CIMLOP) and Gonçalo Byrne (President of Gonçalo Byrne Architects).
A primeira edição deste prémio anual irá culminar num jantar de gala
agendado para o próximo dia 3 de abril, na cidade do Porto, no qual serão
revelados os nomes dos vencedores. Esta cerimónia estará integrada
na programação oficial de uma outra iniciativa inédita no nosso país, a
Semana da Reabilitação Urbana do Porto, que irá celebrar a regeneração e
reabilitação daquela cidade do Norte.
The first edition of these annual awards will be topped off with a gala dinner
slated for April 3rd in Porto, when the names of the winners will be announced.
This ceremony will be integrated in the official programme of another initiative
which will be a first in Portugal - Porto Urban Rehabilitation Week - which will
celebrate the regeneration and rehabilitation of Portugal's capital of the north.
