Dear GMS Families & Community Members,
I want to wish everyone a safe, happy and
healthy summer. Please utilize our summer
reading list and ensure that you stay on top of
your education throughout the summer. We had
a wonderful school year and I look forward to
an even better one next year. Parents, if you
have any questions over the summer we will be
here to help or just give us a call. We will see

NOTIFICATION OF VIRTUAL
INSTRUCTION PROGRAM OPEN
ENROLLMENT
Dear Broward County Parents / Guardians,
Florida Statute 1002.45 requires Florida school districts
to offer a virtual instruction program to students in
grades K-12. A virtual instruction program offers
students a flexible option to attend a public school
using distance and online learning technologies. The
enrollment window for Broward County students
entering grades 6 through 12 opens April 24th and
closes September 18th, 2015. Enrollment for students
entering grades K-5 opens April 24th and closes July
24th, 2015. Students must meet criteria to qualify for
enrollment. More information about virtual instruction
program options, including enrollment criteria, can be
obtained online at www.bved.net or by calling
Broward Virtual School at 754-321-6050.
El estatuto 1002.45 del estado de la Florida requiere que
todos sus distritos escolares ofrezcan programas de
educación por Internet (o educación virtual) para los
estudiantes en los grados K – 12. Un programa de
educación por Internet le da a los estudiantes una
opción flexible para asistir a clases en la escuela pública
utilizando tecnología de aprendizaje a distancia. El
período de matrícula, para los estudiantes del Condado
de Broward que comenzarán los grados 6 al 12, será a
partir del 24 de abril y terminará el 18 de septiembre de
2015. Para los estudiantes que comenzarán los grados
K – 5, el período de matrícula se iniciará el 24 de abril y

Summer Office Hours
Parents may have a need to stop by or call the school
in the summer. If so, our summer office hours are
Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. Call
754-323-4700 if you need assistance, or stop by.
All incoming seventh graders must have their TDAP
shots prior to the start of the school year. With an
early start on August 5th, please make your plans
now to visit the doctor and get the proper
immunizations so that your child may start school
on time!
